"My cat used to shiver on our cold floors, even with blankets around him. Since getting this mat, he curls up on it as soon as I leave and stays cozy until I get home. I no longer worry so much about him being cold when he's home alone."

Made for Older Cats and Dogs

Older cats and dogs sleep more, and they get pickier about where. This mat gives them a spot that holds on to their own warmth instead of handing it to the floor.

There's no cord to trip over or chew, no timer to remember and nothing that heats up on its own. They lie down, and the warmth builds under them.

Sizes S and M suit cats. L and XL are for small to large dogs, on a dog bed, the sofa or the floor of a crate.

How Does It Work?

1. Lay it where they nap. Their bed, the sofa, a window seat or a crate.

2. They lie down. A heat-reflecting film under the plush sends their body heat back up, and the insulation keeps the cold floor out.

3. Their spot gets warmer. The longer they rest, the cozier it gets. An empty mat won't feel warm to your hand, because the warmth builds under your pet.

What Is It Good For?
Chilly fall and winter days at home
Days when the thermostat is turned down, or you're out until evening
Cold tile, wood or laminate floors
Topping up a thin bed or blanket they already love
Lining a crate for an older dog
Size Chart
SizeDimensionsBest for
S24 × 18 in / 61 × 45 cmOne cat or a toy dog
M30 × 20 in / 76 × 51 cmA big cat, two cats or a small dog
L35 × 23 in / 89 × 58 cmA medium dog, or cats who share a sofa
XL41 × 29 in / 104 × 73 cmA large dog or a dog crate

For cats or dogs: pick the size that matches where your pet sleeps, so they can stretch out fully. For a crate, measure the floor and pick the size just under it. Sizes can vary by 1–3 cm.

Older cat curled up asleep on a closed laptop

The radiator.Your laptop.Your pillow.

You've probably noticed it: the older they get, the harder they look for the warm spot.

Cats and dogs look for warmth by instinct, and older pets often look harder. Maybe they curl up tighter than they used to, nap longer on the heating vent, or have taken over your side of the bed.

A cold floor or a thin blanket pulls their body heat away the whole time they sleep. They need a spot that holds it in.

HOW IT WORKS

Warm under them. Not in your hand.

There's no heater inside. Under the soft plush top is a heat-reflecting film (the same idea as a foil emergency blanket), then an insulating layer and a non-slip base.

When your pet lies down, their body heat would normally sink into the floor or drift off into the room. The film sends it back up to them, and the insulation stops the cold floor from pulling it away. The longer they lie there, the warmer their spot gets.

So an empty mat feels like any soft blanket. Slide your hand under your pet after they've been lying on it a while: that's where the warmth is.

Reward the first visit

Drop a couple of treats on the mat. Once they lie down and the warmth builds, they'll come back on their own.

Some pets ignore anything new for a day or two. Leave the mat where it is and don't move it around.

Flat on purpose, so it fits wherever they sleep.

It's thin so it can go anywhere they like to lie: on their bed, the sofa, a window seat, the bottom of the cat tree or in a crate.

The best spots are off the floor, out of drafts and tucked into a corner they like. On cold tile, put it on their bed or a rug first, because bare tile keeps pulling the warmth away.

THERMOSTAT ON LOW

Thermostat turned down? Their spot can still be warm.

Out at work all day, or keeping the thermostat lower this winter? You can't be home to warm them, but the mat doesn't need you. There's no plug and no power, so nothing to leave on while you're gone and nothing to switch off. They lie down, and their spot warms up.

Is it right for your pet?

Great for you if:
Your older cat or dog hunts down the warmest spot in the house
You keep the thermostat low, or you're out all day
You'd rather not leave anything plugged in
They sleep on hard floors, tile or a thin blanket
Not the right fit if:
You need real heat for a freezing garage or outdoor shelter. Use an outdoor-rated heated pad instead
You want a thick, cushioned bed. This is a flat mat that goes on top of one
Your pet chews bedding. The reflective film inside isn't safe to swallow
Your pet runs hot. Some thin-coated cats get too warm and simply step off

Common questions

It doesn't feel warm when I touch it. Is it working?

Yes. There's no heater inside, so an empty mat feels like any soft blanket. The warmth builds under your pet as the reflective film sends their body heat back. To check, slide your hand under your pet after they've been lying on it for a while.

What if my pet won't lie on it?

Put it where they already sleep, lay a favorite blanket or one of your sweaters on top, and drop a couple of treats on it. Some pets ignore anything new for a day or two, so leave it in place. The Winter Guide walks you through the first week.

Is it safe to leave them on it all day?

There's no electricity, no wires and no heating element, so there's nothing to overheat or switch off. The mat only returns the heat they make, and if they get too warm, they'll step off. If your pet chews bedding, keep an eye on them at first: the reflective film inside isn't safe to swallow.

Can I use it outdoors?

In a dry, sheltered spot like a covered porch or an insulated cat house, yes. It won't keep a pet warm in a freezing garage or shed: in real cold, a mat that only reflects body heat isn't enough. Use an outdoor-rated heated pad there.

How do I clean it?

Hand-wash in cool water with a mild detergent, then lay it flat to air-dry. Don't tumble-dry it.

Which size should I get?

S for one cat, M for a big cat or two cats who share, L for a small or medium dog, XL for a medium or large dog. For a crate, measure the floor and pick the size just under it.

Does it work for dogs?

Yes. Older dogs who sleep on cold floors or in a crate use it the same way. Sizes L and XL are made for them.

What's in the Winter Guide?

Where to place the mat in each room, how to get a fussy cat or a wary dog onto it, how to check your home for drafts at pet height, and a simple winter routine for older cats and dogs. It's emailed to you after you order.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping is free and tracked. Orders ship within 1–5 business days, and most arrive 5–9 business days after dispatch. Full details in our Shipping Policy.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery. See our Refund Policy for details.
